Hawaii’s Tallest
Mauna Kea is Hawaii’s tallest volcano.
The volcano is a favorite for many mountain lovers. Good ole Mauna Kea hadn’t released any serious amounts of lava, erupted, in almost 500 years.
Its height is about 14,000 feet from sea level.
The mountain’s high altitude makes it the perfect place for stellar star sightings.
The Hawaiian name, Mauna Kea means “white mountain”. Its a popular location site for Hawaii golf where Hawaiians and tourist travelers gather to cheer on Hawaiian native golfers like Michelle Wie and others.
